vivaLAB was founded in November 2020 by Dr. Andrew O’Brien and Dr. Rocco Iannello with the goal of enhancing the quality of life as we age.
They believed that the health and wellness industry should focus on improving health today rather than merely treating the symptoms of disease and ageing tomorrow.
As scientists with backgrounds in biochemistry and molecular biology, they understood that nutrition is key to improving health outcomes. Importantly, research and data showed that each individual body is different, therefore has unique nutritional and health needs.
They also recognised it was expensive and time-consuming for individuals to access tests that reveal biological health, and it was not feasible for them to interpret the results to identify how to improve their nutrition and health.
After reviewing developments in microbiome and metabolic testing and researching the growing science on nutrition and supplements, they became confident that the solution was a health program that combined testing, analysis, recommendations, and personalised supplement delivery into one integrated service. For it to be effective, it needed to be convenient, affordable, accessible, and accretive.
They went to work, designing and building the logistics, technology, and production facilities to deliver this service, launching their first product vivaBALANCE in 2024.
